Growth
Nature creates a sense of beauty and identity that allows the individual to remember certain outcomes in their life. I show this concept by creating a narrative landscape portraying the struggles I have faced through my academic journey. The tree is an excellent analogy to show how I have grown and matured over the course of my college experience. I have a special connection with nature through family ties and I love the sense of beauty that goes along with it. My process is a mixture between impasto and brush with thick and thin lines. I start by mapping out my canvases with watered down acrylic, then paint en plein air. My hope is for others to see their own beautiful stories in the middle of their own difficulties.
