College of Architecture, Art and Design
One of the smaller colleges on campus, the College of Architecture, Art and Design (CAAD) prides itself on low student to faculty ratios (average 15:1) and is a close-knit “community.” CAAD is continuously at the top of Mississippi State University rankings on a national student survey relating to educational experience and engagement with faculty.
School of Architecture
The Mississippi State University School of Architecture offers the Bachelor of Architecture degree, a five-year professional degree accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). The program has been accredited continuously since its inception in 1973. In September of 2016, the school was reaccredited for another full eight-year term.
Department of Art
The Mississippi State University Department of Art offers the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), the department offers three concentrations: fine arts (including emphasis areas in ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture), graphic design, and photography.
Department of Building Construction Science
The Department of Building Construction Science at Mississippi State University is designed to prepare students for careers in construction and construction-related fields. The studio-based department is one of just two programs of its kind in the nation.
Department of Interior Design
Interior design is a challenging, exciting, and ever-changing profession. The Department of Interior Design at Mississippi State University is accredited by both the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) and the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) and is the largest interior design program in the state.
