Hispanic Heritage Month: Architecture and Urbanism

September 15, 2021

Location

Charlotte and Richard McNeel Architecture Gallery, Giles Hall

The Hispanic Heritage Month exhibition celebrates architecture and urbanism in Latin America and the work of Latinx architects in the U.S. and around the world. It showcases images of Latin American cities and modern architecture from the twentieth and twenty-first century including a broad range of public buildings, social housing projects and private residences.

The exhibition provides an insight on the production of urban and architectural form considering a variety of architectural languages, and it explores the representation of Latinx in architecture. A goal of the exhibition is for the work to contribute to conversations about transnational linkages in the Americas.
