Location

Visual Arts Center Gallery

Four artworks by children.

On display December 12th through the 16th in the Visual Arts Center Gallery is a special exhibition of artwork created by students in the VIVA program at Henderson Ward Stewart Elementary.

As part of Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District gifted program, VIVA (Verbal Innovations and Visual Arts) is designed for students who meet state guidelines for artistically gifted. The VIVA program provides intellectual, creative, and artistic opportunities for 4th and 5th graders enrolled in the Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School District.

This past fall, the 4th graders in the VIVA program spent time researching the culture of Ancient Egypt. Part of their exploration includes creating artwork for this special exhibition.

The Visual Arts Center Gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday, 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., closed University holidays.
