Announced at the end of the fall semester, the competition offered students a chance to design their own lounge area with a prize of $250.
Matt Wallace is co-leader of Lake|Flato’s Eco-Conservation studio, which fulfills his passion for championing projects that encourage environmental stewardship. He believes great architecture is a result of collaboration between talented individuals and embraces his role as part of the firm’s hiring team, mentoring new employees and regularly presenting to aspiring architecture students.
Founded in 1986, the association presents awards that serve as tributes or memorials to colleagues and association members who made major contributions to student development during their careers at the 143-year-old land-grant institution.

Young Women in Architecture is a new student organization in the College of Architecture, Art and Design at Mississippi State University, founded by architecture student Savannah Wilson. YWA's mission is to empower and support women in architecture during and after their time at Mississippi State. The group has established five pillars as its backbone: Design, Integrity, Community, Scholarship, and Purpose.
