I have always had an interest in building and designing things. After getting my associate's degree in drafting and design at Holmes Community College, it furthered my interest in construction and the design process. Mississippi State has always been part of my college plan, so whenever I found out about the Building Construction Science major, I knew that is where I would want to end up.

Studio A and B courses in the Department of Building Construction Science at Mississippi State offer students real-world experience in building through the construction of a modular home.
Studio A and B courses in the Department of Building Construction Science at Mississippi State hosted 14 students in Studio A and 15 students in Studio B this summer.
Each studio had a designated superintendent and an assistant superintendent, chosen by the students, who oversaw the various tasks and trades for communication and ensured timely completion of a modular home.
Syed M. Ahmed comes to MSU from South Dakota State University, where he served as head of the Department of Construction and Operations Management within the engineering college.
As chief operating officer I oversee the day-to-day running of KT Builder. I work with the rest of the management team to make sure our team is running to the best of its ability. My duties vary day to day, but my main duty is to drive home the culture and values we operate upon and to coach our people. My goal is to continue to drive the mentality of safety, quality and professionalism to our team.
