I stay in touch with and keep in check all 14 divisions thru my liaisons.
We were one of the original companies that were instrumental in starting the BCS program. My son Ty was in the first graduating class.
Try and get as much field experience as possible and find the right company fit.
I handle the business side of Upchurch Plumbing, Inc., including banking, insurance bonding estimating and budgets.
I joined the MSU IAB to help share my business and life experiences of what I have seen by years working in the industry. I also want to help the BCS program teach the students the things that they will need to work in the construction industry with the trends that I see in the field.
My role is to provide guidance and leadership support to each project that I oversee and to ensure that we are delivering upon our contract commitments to each of our clients.
Turner joined this board as a way to become more involved with the MSU leadership and students and to learn about the curriculum so that we can pair that with our future candidates for hire.

As a Chief Estimator, I am responsible for all aspects of the preconstruction process, which involves working with the design team, trade partners, and vendors to find the most cost-effective solutions for our clients.
As one of the nation's top contractors, we always look for hard-working, highly motivated, and talented employees. The MSU BCS program does an excellent job of preparing students for a successful future in construction.
I oversee our management teams for the construction projects ensuring they have all resources and systems needed to perform the work in an efficient and proficient manner. Also, I assist our Preconstruction team, helping with logistics and scheduling.
I lead our team efforts to address the risks associated with our business. These include our QC (Quality Control) Program, Safety, Insurance, Surety, SDI (subcontractor default insurance), Legal, and project management technology such as Procore.

The current owners grew up within the firm, understanding the importance of an honest and principled approach to clients.
