The 2017 annual Awards and Recognition Banquet for the Mississippi State University Building Construction Science Program was held on May 5 at the Mill Conference Center in Starkville.

A special thanks to all the alumni who attended the event as well as our Advisory Board members, Tony Carroll and Mike Upchurch.

Barry Lipsky, current chair of the BCS Advisory Board, opened the night with a congratulations to the Class of 2017 via video from New York.

Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) Region II Student Competition

Two MSU teams participated in the annual student competition this year in Peachtree City, Ga.

The Heavy Civil Team, which included BCS students Carver Camp, William Daniels and Owen McVitty, won the Best Presentation Award.

Student Researcher Award

At the encouragement and funding of Visiting Assistant Professor Mohammed Mawlana, the ABC Student Chapter presented the first annual Student Researcher Award in recognition for demonstrated professionalism as well as excitement, energy and drive that is crucial for successful research.

Director’s Medallion
