Harned Hall Mural

Two undergraduate graphic design students from the Department of Art, James Karlson and Mary Katherine Sanders, designed and painted a mural on the first floor of Harned Hall, home to the Department of Biological Sciences at Mississippi State University.

Both students applied their fine arts skills and graphic arts knowledge toward designing and painting the mural. The composite mural highlights the research of faculty members residing on the first floor of Harned Hall. The mural measures 7 feet tall by 16รณ feet wide and is painted across four adjoining walls.

This mural is an addition to other murals on the second and third floors, which also showcase the research of faculty members residing on those floors. Each of the previous murals was completed by a senior art student under Soon Ee Ngoh's supervision.

This proposed mural project is a part of an ongoing collaboration between the Departments of Art and Biological Sciences.

The project was completed in fall 2021.
